Meet Dr. Asher Chiu
Dr. Asher Chiu was born in Taiwan and moved to Seattle with his family right before high school. Dr. Asher is a proud triple Husky, as he completed his undergraduate, dental school, and orthodontic specialty training all through the University of Washington - Go Dawgs! He currently lives in Seattle with his wife, Stephanie, and their Boston Terrier, Tucker. Dr. Asher is an avid Seattle sports fan, and when he is not straightening teeth, Dr. Asher loves to cook, read, golf, play basketball, and explore the Pacific Northwest through sailing and backpacking!
Dr. Asher graduated with a Bachelor of Science in General Biology from the University of Washington and worked for five years at a biotechnology startup before discovering a passion for dentistry. In dental school at the UW, he served as the social chair, received numerous scholarships and awards, and was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society for graduating at the top of his class. While rotating through the graduate clinic, Dr. Asher fell in love with the beautiful smiles created through the hands of the orthodontists and decided to continue his training at the UW, earning his Master of Science in Dentistry and Orthodontic Certificate.
Dr. Asher completed many research projects throughout dental school and residency and has presented his published work at various dental conferences. He is a member of the South Sound Multi-Disciplinary Study Club and plans to continue honing his orthodontic knowledge and skill through collaborating with other dental professionals.
